Biography

Bassist Francois Egron played and toured France and Germany with various bands in the early 70's, such as Marc Remy et Son Ensemble, a twelve piece dance band and Gwen, an early jazz fusion quartet. After moving to San Francisco, Francois played with many Bay Area bands, including Borneo and Grooveyard and opened for such names as Alan Holdsworth and Sheila E. Francois plays both electric and upright basses; his influences range from Jimi Hendrix and Jack Bruce to Ray Brown, Stanley Clarke and Jaco Pastorius.

Drummer BIll Miller started playing percussion at age 7 when he converted his Planet of the Apes trashcan into a drum using notebook paper and Scotch tape. Influential drummers include Art Blakey, Steve Gadd and Chris Frantz. Also inspirational is the carefree, magical music of dEUS, Ween and John Lurie. Bill and Francois played together in the early 2000s in Grooveyard. The band blended original music and world rhythms with jazz standards, funk and blues.

Keyboardist In Lemon Trio, Eugene Chen plays primarily piano and adds organ, electric piano and synthesizer. He artfully blends the subtle piano voicings of Brad Mehldau and Bill Evans with the electric percussive sounds of Herbie Hancock and John Medeski. Eugene and Bill also play in experimental pop music in Here Are The Facts You Requested. This group released three albums on Testing Ground Records and toured Europe to sold out crowds.

Lemon Trio is even jucier with our special guests:

Guitarist Dave McFarland worked with many groups in Chicago including jam bands and R & B acts before moving to the Bay Area to focus on jazz.
